My friends, remember the date, save this message to a file, print it out and keep it. History is being made today. I am privileged to be able to bring you the following information:
NEW JENSEN CAR TO BE LAUNCHEDThe Jensen marque, one of the proudest in the history of British sports cars, is once again about to set the pace in the sports car market, following secret developments to introduce a new British car.
Two Midlands businessmen, Keith Rauer and Robin Bowyer, the joint managing directors of the Redditch-based Creative Group Limited, have been working on the project to develop the new vehicle for over a year.
They have drawn together a talented team of designers and engineers. Work is progressing well, with the support of leading UK automotive component suppliers, towards the launch of what promises to be an exciting, innovative and truly British sports car.
Speaking at the annual International Weekend gathering
of the Jensen Owners' Club, in Warrington, Keith Rauer said: 'We felt it
was essential to have the right brand and image to launch the new car.
'There is a very strong business case to support the project and we are starting discussions with potential investors to raise the necessary funds to underpin the launch of the new car.'
Robin Bowyer added: 'Jensen has its roots in the Midlands and it's entirely appropriate that the vehicle will be true to its heritage and will he built here again by the new Jensen Motors Ltd which we have just re-established and will be responsible for manufacturing and marketing the new car.
'As part of the product development programme we carried out extensive market testing and received very positive feedback to the car.'
Creative has engaged the Corporate Finance Division of Ernst and Young to assist in raising equity funding necessary to bring the car to market. Ken Tuck of Ernst & Young commented: 'The achievements of Creative are impressive and we are confident that we can find the appropriate co-investor and suitable finance package to realise this exciting project.'
Keith Rauer and Robin Bowyer, both with a lifetime's experience in the motor industry, formed Creative just over four years ago. Creative specialises in automotive development projects, focusing on providing cost effective tooling solutions for niche vehicles and has worked successfully on projects for major international customers including Chrysler, Nissan, Western Star Trucks and Leyland Trucks.
In four years the company has grown from start-up to achieve annual sales of over 10 million and employs over 100 staff. It has its own design studio and one of the largest privately owned tool rooms in the country. The picture shows Robin Bowyer (left) and Keith Rauer with something rather special under wraps.
